Sassy Lil’ Sketches – It’s a sad day!

Good  morning everyone!

It’s been a while since my last blog post, and I have been incredibly busy with work … trying to get into this new routine, new books this here, new students, new preparation from home …

… which as a result means very little me time, and not enough scrap time …

Anyway, that explains my disappearance …

Unfortunately Sassy Lil’ Sketches is closing!

After 3 years of being with these brilliant groups of woman it’s so sad that they are closing … we can understand, life is life … and I hope we see Cherie & Kate back again soon!

So here is my last DT sketch :

October sketch

 It was really fun to switch this one up … My initial thought was to keep the ‘long’ element … so I decided to make a double A4 layout and used the fab photos of my nieces and their friends …

The next twist was to give it a different feel, so I printed the photos on Canvas paper and fussy cut around them …

So here it is …

 I’ve made little clusters with sticker saying, chipboard, die cuts … I’ve tried to keep the main focus on the photos, the innocence and playfulness of youth!

Sassy Lil Sketches – Switch it up!!

Good morning!!!

I’m excited to present my Sassy Lil’ Switch it up take on September’s Week 2 sketch designed by Cherie:

I’m feeling a bit like Alice in Wonderland, last month I shrunk it to an A4 size, this month I’m stretching it to a double layout!!

I’ve also flipped it on it’s side …

Here it is:

I so enjoyed making this double layout … the papers are all from DCWV ‘the Performance Stack’, which has lovely music papers and vellum sheets … I was able to buy this pack locally and shared it with my friend Zeffy … with the girls being so musically inclined I knew that I would get good use out of it …

Katerina plays the violin and Sofia the mandolin.

Sassy Lil Sketches – Switch it up!!

Good morning everyone!

I’m here this morning to share the layout that I did with Sassy’s Week 2 Sketch for August … here is the Original Sketch …

I decided to flip it on its side, and instead of using the 12×12 format, I’ve used an ‘A4′ canvas which was 9×12, and I think the sketch worked quite well …

Here is my layout:

Week 2 Switcharoo!

I’ve used a canvas, which I misted first, and dabbed at it with a wetwipe … then added the stenciled birdcage and birds using 3D acrylic paint, and used distress ink and 3D paint over that …

The border stickers are from Crate Paper, the border punch out is from EK Success, and the chipboard accents are Basic Grey …

The title is a mixture of stickers and a clear acetate title …

I’m preparing once again for my 3 week trip to Naxos to visit family and friends … I’m looking forward to seeing my brother and his family, to meeting up for drinks and chats with friends … to relaxing in the cool mountain air … to visit my aunt by the sea and to stay with her a few days …

Anyway back to reality …

I think I went a little overboard, but here is my layout!

I’ve used a variety of products and techniques … stamping, misting, clustering, my own flowers … The layout is based on a Sassy Lil Sketches Dec. 28th sketch which you can see HERE.

Sassy’s Lil Sketch 21st July

Amazing it’s the 21st again, and I can’t believe that another six months with Sassy Lil’ Sketches have gone by!!!

I’m so happy to announce that I’ve signed on for another six months ….

I find Cherie’s sketches so inspirational … and here is July’s sketch!

I love the versatility of multiphoto layouts … and I decided to use photos from my day out to the Special Olympics with my friend Irini, godson C3 and his friend Ilias! The papers are mainly echo park, although I did sneek in a bit of Crate paper in the background …

Sassy Lil Sketches DT Reveal

Today Sassy Lil Sketches revealed their Design teams for the term August 2011 – February 2012.

We are so excited to announce our new Sassies, but before we do we would like to just let in on a few of the changes you will be seeing on both Sassy Lil’ Sketches blogs.   Starting in August, we will be revealing new Sassy Lil’ Sketches on Tuesdays and Sassy Lil’ Card Sketches on Thursday. “Switch it Up”  Saturday will premiere on  Sassy Lil’ Sketches in August, too!

A few of our Sassies are not returning this coming term. 

We will definitely miss their talent, but wish them the best!

I’m happy and excited because I’m back again, but this time instead of my regular week 3 spot I’m in my new Switch it up position!!!

What’s this you say?

Well you’ll just have to wait until the 2nd Saturday in August to find out!!!!

I’m happy to see both my friend Melenia & Irini  on the DT as well, and I’d like to welcome Marie to the card DT !!! Way to go GREECE!!
